Bomb Blast Near Amritsar | 3 Dead & 20 Injured In Grenade Attack
Three people have been killed and fifteen injured in a bomb blast at Nirankari Bhawan in Amritsar’s Rajasansi village, as reported by a senior police official. The spiritual sect has a huge following all over the world and has congregation centres across the world. Surinder Pal Singh Parmar, a senior officer, said the wounded have been moved to a hospital nearby. The blast was from a grenade that was hurled from motorbike targeting the religious congregation of ‘Nirankaris’.
250 people who were present in this Nirankari congregation. The casualties reported as of now are 3 dead and 15-20 injured.
Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has been quick to react to this unfortunate incident and has announced Rs. 5 lakh ($ 6,750) for the victims and free treatment for the injured.
Every Sunday, hundreds of followers gather at the Nirankari hall in Adhiwala village for prayers followed by kirtan. From what it appears as of now this was a well planned & targeted attack.
Punjab was on the vigil following inside information claiming that “a group of 6 to 7 JeM terrorists were spotted in the state, possibly in Ferozepur area. The state was placed under high alert after four persons snatched an SUV from its owner at gunpoint near Madhopur in Pathankot district just a week ago.

The police are probing the CCTV tape to identify the assailants.
The location of this incident is around 8 km from airport.
Eye witness reports suggest that 2 men on a motorcycle, their faces covered, apparently flung a grenade near the Nirankari Bhawan, where a religious service was in full swing.
